Hello, fellow Marion County residents,

My name is Scott Haycraft, and I’m proud to call Hannibal, Missouri—America’s Hometown—my home for my entire life. As your current 1st Ward City Councilmember, I’ve had the honor of serving our community up close, fighting for practical solutions that make a real difference in people’s everyday lives.

I’m a family man first—married to my wonderful wife Coley, father to our two children, and a man who puts God first in everything I do. I love our country, our great state of Missouri, and especially our hometown of Hannibal with its rich history, strong work ethic, and caring neighbors.

As the owner of Hannibal Machine Inc., my father and I built a successful local business from the ground up, creating jobs and supporting our economy right here at home. That experience has taught me the value of hard work, fiscal responsibility, and listening to the people you serve. On the City Council, I’ve worked tirelessly to support small businesses, improve infrastructure, promote transparency, and keep our community safe and thriving.

Now, I’m stepping up to run for Marion County Commissioner because I believe our county deserves a dedicated voice that puts our families, farms, businesses, and values first. I’m passionate about local government—not as a stepping stone, but as the place where real progress happens for the people who live, work, and raise their families here.

I want to be your voice on the Commission: fighting for responsible budgets, better roads and services, protecting our rural way of life, and ensuring every corner of Marion County—from Hannibal to Palmyra and beyond—has the representation it deserves. Together, we can do good for our community, honor our traditions, and build an even brighter future.
